"The characters are well developed and enjoyable. I really fell in love with Brand. His passion for life, although dimmed because of his past, began to shine again. I enjoyed watching him discover himself and his love for Brynna, a strong, yet loving woman who is perfect for him. She feared no one and gave as good as she got; a woman willing to fight for her people, herself and for Brand's love. Their feelings, although confused at times, were what made this story such a great one. The secondary characters truly supported the story and were just as well developed as Brynn and Brand. In fact, I can't wait for Dante's story! I especially liked the historical setting of the book, which was perfect for these characters, and the development of Brynn's relationship with Lord William. If you desire a great read with lots of strong characters and a wonderful romance, pick up Lord of Desire."

Set just two years before the Battle of Hastings, the novel provides a substantive historical background that enhances, rather than overpowers, the intense and emotionally enthralling love story....Lord of Desire is a compelling love story, set against a major turning point in English history. As a matter of fact, William, Duke of Normandy, is a fully developed character in the novel. The novel ends as Brand rides into battle at Williams side, helping to integrate the turbulent history of the time into the tumultuous romance that touches the heart of any lover of medieval romance. The novel is so well done, in fact, that I plan to look for other Paula Quinn romances in the future."
